us against the world. a stop sign that crossed my eye as everyone ran across the street, cars moving fast towards us. we were starving! the first two nights in new orleans, we partied hard + had way too much fun doing it. but, then again, whoever said a lot of fun is too much fun when doing it with the people you love? i had the pleasure of spending my birthday weekend with five beautiful souls. people who love adventure. who love to laugh. who love to jam out driving down nola highways. who love to have amazing conversations over soul food. there was some disagreements during the trip but it would be too good to be true if there wasn't but one thing i appreciated about the minimal disagreements were we didn't allow it to take away from the trip; it actually established a better understanding + better communication amongst the group which made for an even better trip. i had a conversation about the trip with one of my sister friends who joined us + we talked about how sometimes we forget to live fully in the moment + how easily we can forget how precious time is. it is so easy to allow your emotions to get in the way of cherishing beautiful memories; we allow our emotions to completely overpower sometimes + mess a good thing up. there is something that can be taken away from every trip, from every experience + from this one, i learned to continue to appreciate forever memories, beautiful people + genuine laughter. i learned to be okay with disagreements because they're natural, they happen + that there are healthy ways to work through them, learn from them + move on. i learned to always love, always laugh, always explore + to always, always cherish this life i'm so blessed to be living.
